Class Disadvantages

Post by Naruko on Mon Jul 06, 2015 6:47 pm

Seeing as how all Genin already start with Practitioner in every single Nindo by default and the Not Trained ranking seems to have no real use, and characters on creation get two to three Nindo that they get to bump up to Expert, the site's creation rules makes for some seriously intense Genin. As a means of slightly lowering this radical, I would like to propose that, upon the creation of a Genin, the character has one Nindo that is untrained, as to represent the fact that everyone has some kind of weakness.

That is a really interesting idea.

What do you think of something like a buy in system almost?

Genin get 5 (out of Cool slots for practitioner.

If they so choose they can degrade one practitioner to N/A and increase something to expert.

We'd have something like (before class application)

Nindo (Fighting Styles)
Chakra: Practitioner
  • Ninjutsu: Practitioner
  • Taijutsu: Not Trained
  • Genjutsu: Not Trained

Speed: Practitioner
Strength: Not Trained
Intelligence: Practitioner
Agility: Practitioner

This is a better path to go down if we want to be adding class disadvantages admins~ Not only is it more logical than the current "Oh I learnt how to perform better Genjutsu!" And then forgetting how to punch someone in the face straight away afterwards, or learning how to do Fuuinjutsu and then suddenly your butt naked cause you couldn't carry shit anymore (I could go on), it allows for more customization for our characters too.

If we end up messing up its our fault instead of the fault of being forced to choose between a rock and a hard place. Return the classes to default again and implement this ;O - although no genin should go above expert at start, and perhaps 6 slots to delegate practitioner towards so the bog standard genin is practitioner in all areas as was intended :] (if they choose the appropriate classes to make up for their short comings ofc)

This is still being decided. The last few versions are being tinkered with. So forgive us staffers, because we're trialling the system. Since like our members we have also noticed the issue with drawbacks.
