Technique Specific Rules

Overview: In the Naruto Universe there are many techniques which require special rules and guidelines apart from other site rules. Here those special rules will be laid out for every individual technique which requires it. Techniques with special conditions and rules will be translated into the technique template given by this site. This will occur on the as-needed basis to prevent a giant amount of work from staff.

Ninjutsu

Shadow Clone Technique:
Name: Shadow Clone Technique
Rank: B-Rank
Main Type: Ninjutsu

Description: Similar to the basic Clone Technique, this technique creates copies of the user. However, these clones are corporeal instead of illusions. The user's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clones are capable of performing techniques on their own and can even bleed, but will usually disperse after hit by a strong enough force. The clones can also disperse on their own or be dispelled by the user of the technique. Shadow clones can't be distinguished from the actual person even by dōjutsu because the clones have the exact same amount of chakra as the original, and aren't made from any other substance like water clones are for example.[3] Shadow clones also seem to be able to think for themselves and feel the original's pain to some extent, as evidenced by Naruto's clones feeling pain when the Nine-Tails' cloak awakened while he and Kakashi were fighting Deidara.

A characteristic that is unique to the Shadow Clone Technique is that any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed. Similarly, because they are clones of the original, any chakra that the clone possesses will return to the original after being dispelled.[6] Conversely, the reverse is also true and the original is still able to manipulate the chakra of the clones.[7]
Drawbacks/Weaknesses:

  • For every one clone created the number of techniques you can perform is reduced by half.
  • Likewise the number of techniques your clone can perform is the amount granted from your Chakra Nindo divided by the number of clones.
  • Example 1: (A practitioner creates 1 Shadow Clone. Each may now only perform 5 Jutsu a piece.) In the case of fractions round up.(IE: A practitioner makes 3 clones with 10 Jutsu usable, simply divide 10 by 3 and round to the nearest 10. 10/3= 3.3 =3 usable techniques each.
  • Example 2: A Master creates 3 clones. 20/3= 6.7 = 7 usable techniques each.)
  • The number of clones are limited based on your Chakra Nindo as follows;

    • Practitioner: 2 Clones
    • Expert: 4 Clones
    • Master: 6 Clones


  • Clones are only allowed to travel in the land where the original is present otherwise they are automatically dispersed.

Multiple Shadow Clone Technique:
Can only be performed by characters with Great Master in their Chakra Nindo.
Attack Prevention Technique:
Name: Attack Prevention Technique

Description: With this technique, the user can phase through their surroundings, allowing them to quickly avoid an incoming attack or travel undetected. The user can then execute a surprise attack to the enemy.
Drawbacks/Weaknesses:

  • You may only travel through an object for 2 posts, and afterward you are ejected from the surface.
  • You may not phase through any Chakra-based surfaces or techniques.
  • With a sufficiently strong enough attack it is possible to destroy the phasing object and eject the user of this technique. This can also occur if you are pulled from the objects surface. Requires B-Rank or higher technique.
  • It takes 1 post to phase entirely into an object, allowing for interception

Earth Release Light-Weight Rock Technique:
Name: Earth Release: Light-Weight Rock Technique
Rank: B-Rank
Main Type: Ninjutsu

Description: Contrary to its counterpart, this technique reduces one's gravity, making it much lighter. The atmosphere, along with their body, can be lightened in order to take flight and increasing their manoeuvrability. With enough practice, the user can control their flight through the sky with specific bodily movements. However, a consequence of using this technique on oneself or another individual is a decrease in the physical force of the affected person's attacks.[2] Ōnoki, who possessed a mastery over this technique, was able to also manipulate the weight of other targets. By touching his target, he could instead take their gravity away and regulate just how much is taken.[3]
Drawbacks/Weaknesses:

  • Duration of flight time depends on your Chakra Nindo

    • Practitioner: 5 Posts with a 3 Post cool-down
    • Expert: 10 Posts with a 6 Post cool-down
    • Master: 15 Posts with a 9 Post cool-down
    • Great Master: Unlimited


  • How fast you can fly is determined by your Speed Nindo. Anyone with a higher Nindo in speed will fly faster than those of lesser speed. This is to keep things simple.
  • When transferring Flight it lasts 3 posts with a 2 post cool-down before it can be transferred to another person.

Hiding with Camouflage Technique:
Name: Hiding with Camouflage Technique
Rank: A-Rank
Main Type: Ninjutsu
-Sub-Type(s): Sensory Technique
Chakra Nature: N/A
Hand Signs: Tiger
Description: This is a ninja escape technique that allows the user to control how light is reflected around their body with chakra inflections. The technique also erases the user's scent and shadow, and is usable on any terrain, making it ideal not only for covert manoeuvres but also offensive strikes. Perceiving the user's position is possible only for ninja who are astute enough to observe minute variations within their surrounding environment, such as distortions of air currents in the immediate vicinity or distinguishing sounds, i.e. footsteps etc. The usefulness of this ability can be entirely negated by those with special vision or sensory skills, except for particularly adept users, who can completely erase even their chakra signature with it.
Drawbacks/Weaknesses:

  • To erase your chakra signature the Sensory class is required.

Chakra Sensing Technique:
Name: Chakra Sensing Technique

Description: Sensing is a skill used by sensor type shinobi to detect chakra. Using this technique, sensors can easily detect, and track down targets using a multitude of sensing techniques. The range of this technique varies between sensors.
Drawbacks/Weaknesses:

  • Requires Sensor class
  • The range and effectiveness of this technique depends on your Intelligence Nindo as follows:

    • Practitioner: 100m
    • Expert: 250m
    • Master: 500m
    • Great Mastery: 1000m



Body Flicker Technique:
Name: Body Flicker Technique

Description: The Body Flicker Technique is a high-speed movement technique, allowing a ninja to move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed.[2] To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalise the body and move at extreme speeds. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance and elevation between the user and the intended destination.
Drawbacks/Weaknesses:

  • Speed on NC is determined entirely by the Speed Nindo including the speed of certain jutsu. It’s simple anyone with a greater mastery in speed has faster techniques, and Body Flicker:

    • Practitioner: Same speed to others with this Mastery
    • Expert: Faster than a Practitioner and equal to other Experts
    • Master: Faster than an Expert and equal to other Masters
    • Great Master: Fastest on the site, and equal only to other Great Masters.



Fission Technique:
Name: Fission Technique
Rank: A-Rank
Main Type: Ninjutsu

Description: This technique allows Mū to literally split his own body into two identical yet entirely independent duplicates of himself. Unlike Clone Techniques that only appear to be similar, the ability is instead a physical separation and so does not require hand seals to activate, making it faster in comparison as a result. This also means that even if one is incapacitated, the other remains completely unaffected and as neither can truly be regarded as the original, the duplicates cannot be dispelled like normal clones. However, while split, Mū's power is halved and as such he is unable to use more complex techniques
Drawbacks/Weaknesses:

  • The number of techniques the user is able to use with their Chakra Nindo is halved. This means divide the maximum number of techniques usable per post by half.
  • While using this technique the user may only use up to B-Rank techniques.

Chakra Draining Techniques:
Techniques which drain Chakra (Custom or Canon) will reduce the number of jutsu a character is capable of performing depending on the rank of the Chakra Absorption technique. The user of the Chakra draining technique will increase the number of jutsu they can perform by the same number. As implied Chakra Absorption techniques start off at C-Rank or above for custom or canon.


  • C-Rank: 2 Jutsu per post
  • B-Rank: 4 Jutsu per post
  • A-Rank: 8 Jutsu per post
  • S-Rank: 16 Jutsu per post


Taijutsu
Eight Inner Gates:

  Name: The First Gate of Opening
  Rank: C-Rank
  Main Type: Taijutsu

 Description: Located in the brain, removes the restraints of the brain on the muscles so 100% of the user's strength can be used whereas normally, a person can only use 20% of their muscles' strength to keep them from disintegrating. Unlocking this gate allows the user to use the Front Lotus. When using this Gate the user's Strength, Speed, Agility, and Taijutsu Nindo increase by 1 level for 1 post. (Users will not gain Nindo Perks)
  Drawbacks/Weaknesses:

  • Strength, Speed, Agility, and Taijutsu Nindo become No Skill for 2 posts.


   Name: The Second Gate of Healing
   Rank: B-Rank
   Main Type: Taijutsu

   Description: The Gate of Rest, located in the brain, forcibly increases the user's physical strength and temporarily re-energizes the body. This Gate removes the drawbacks of the First Gate of Opening; restoring the user’s Nindo benefits once released. This skill lasts for 2 posts.  (Users will not gain Nindo Perks)
   Drawbacks/Weaknesses:

  • Strength, Speed, Agility, and Taijutsu Nindo become No Skill for 4 posts.


   Name: The Third Gate of Life
   Rank: A-Rank
   Main Type: Taijutsu
   -Sub-Type(s):
   Chakra Nature: N/A
   Hand Signs: None
   Description: Located on the spinal cord, allows the user to use the Reverse Lotus. The increased blood flow turns the skin red. Taijutsu used excluding the Reverse Lotus; during this Gate are +1 in Rank. This Gate removes the drawbacks of the Second Gate of Healing; restoring the user’s Nindo benefits once released. Lasts for 3 posts. (Users will not gain Nindo Perks)
   Drawbacks/Weaknesses:

  • Strength, Speed, Agility, and Taijutsu Nindo become No Skill for 6 posts.

Name: The Fourth Gate of Pain
Rank: A-Rank
Main Type: Taijutsu

Description: Located on the spinal cord, increases the user's speed and power. May cause muscle tissue to tear on use. This Gate removes the drawbacks of the Third Gate of Life; restoring the user’s Nindo benefits once released and increasing their Chakra Nindo by 1 level. This skill lasts 4 posts. (Users will not gain Nindo Perks)
Drawbacks/Weaknesses:

  • Strength, Speed, Agility, Chakra and Taijutsu Nindo become No Skill for 8 posts.
